Monthly picks from In Vino's cool & hot "Wine Chix"!!

I am proud of our staff and how much wine knowledge they have all gained while working here. As some of you may know you can always find some of my picks "Steve's Picks" on many wines in the store. I wanted to give "the chix" a chance to show off their favorites. Each month there will be six wines, each chosen by one of the girls. Leslie's Pick: Domaine Collin Cremant de Limoux

This excellent southern French sparkling wine is new on our shelves at In Vino! It's a bottle-fermented blend of four-fifths pinot noir and a fifth-chardonnay. It has a rich champagne-like biscuity personality with a creamy mousse feel and lively tang that will grace any festive occasion!

Maddie's Pick: Bearboat Pinot Noir

This 2008 Bearboat Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast is one of my favorite Pinots! It has a beautiful pale ruby color with moderately intense aromas of strawberry and vanilla. It is medium bodied with balanced acidity and soft tannins.

Belinda's Pick: Ca'Rugate Soave Classico

This is an elegant wine with a soft floral bouquet and smooth almond finish on the palate. A great aperitif but also works with light chicken and fish dishes. I like this wine chilled, but the flavors are better if it is not too cold. Enjoy!

Lauren's Pick: Jam Cabernet Sauvignon

This is a luscious fruit forward Cab from Napa Valley. It has aromas of ripe plum and cherry with a hint of chocolate. The palate is velvety with ripe black cherry and wild berry finishing with spicy plum. This is a great pick!

Tara's Pick: Leitz Dragonstone Riesling

This is a slightly-sweet traditional German Riesling that is absolutely delicious. Lots of fruit in this wine as well as a hint of spearmint.

Kim's Pick: Summers Four Acres Zinfandel

Summer may be coming to an end but you can always have Summer's Zin. This wine has large fruit flavors of cherry, blackberries, dark plum- spices of black pepper and cocoa...A great way to start off the fall weather.
